The newly painted soft yellow exterior presents a welcoming facade. the parking lot as has been re-surfaced.
Inside, a beach-themed office creates a relaxing atmosphere. These walls have been freshly painted, too. Their pale color washes the interior with sunshine. New carpeting that resembles the mottled color and texture of sand covers the walkways. Patient exam rooms have new sand-colored tile flooring, while a warm wood covers the floor in the central clinical station.
Pictures of painted beach and underwater scenes create colorful focal points. Here patients can find bright artworks by well-known artists Dan Mackin and international reef artist john Akers.
"With the remodelling of our east office, we wanted to make our patients feel like they were at the ocean, that than in a sterile-looking clinical environment," says Kenneth J. Palestrant, M.D., CEO and medical director of Physicians Immediate Care.
From the waiting room, where large windows bath the space with light and a wall-mounted metal sculpture of a flock of seagulls recall the seashore, to the exam rooms decorated with intimate, pastel-colored beachscapes, patients find a welcoming environment designed to put them at ease.
